Sr. Business Controls Specialist - Cross Product Controls

Job Description:

The Sr. Business Controls Specialist role, as part of the Consumer & Small Business Cross Product Controls Performance team, will be responsible for critical control gap assessments & activities aligned to adherence of overall Product control effectiveness reporting requirements in order to enhance visibility and ensure our products are operating as intended.

  • Primary responsibility for supporting the creation, implementation and maintenance of Cross Product Control Effectiveness Dashboards in accordance with "target state" Enterprise Policy and Line of Business Standard(s).  This work will include ensuring Enterprise required control reporting is accurate and executed timely,  based on "target state" product risk framework requirements.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with Consumer and Small Business Product Control Owners, Consumer and Small Business Product Centralized Business Controls, Compliance & Operational Risk 
  • Support Cross Product control performance, policy & procedures processes by working closely with our Cross Product control intake coordinators providing insight & awareness that will be needed to execute ongoing gap assessments and reporting.
  • Additional responsibilities to be assigned as needed based on business needs and requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Business Control, Compliance and/or Risk experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to succinctly convey information to executive leaders and stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly identify & assess control gaps
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple businesses and/or business partners
  • Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, strong follow-up skills and ability to escalate and gain resolution as needed

  • Microsoft Office- Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • SharePoint
  • Previous experience in Consumer and Small Business
  • Control metric development
  • Exposure to SPI / legacy process, risk and control framework

Enterprise Role Description:

Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.
