Description

This is a position in the Accounting Operations team supporting Global Leasing (Commercial and Global Vendor Finance) in Toronto, Ontario, and will be responsible for handling accounting, accounts payable and tax activities.  The successful candidate will be our Canadian accounting and tax subject matter expert, managing requests from multiple offices, so must have a strong background in both Canadian accounting and sales tax compliance rules as well as in US GAAP. 

Responsibilities

Daily activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales tax compliance filings and payments

  • Equipment funding invoice reviews (for sales tax compliance and accounts payables purposes)

  • Providing accounting and tax guidance on transactions as requested

  • Year-end sales and income tax support

  • Accounts payable review and processing

  • Account reconciliations

  • Cash management (raise funds, manage and report on line of credit)

  • Providing support and backup as needed for our US offices

  • Other projects as they arise

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in accounting, tax and accounts receivables preferred

  • Results-oriented, with a strong attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in an orderly fashion

  • Able to work both independently and as a team member

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience in the leasing industry and with database query tools preferred

  • Experience with SAP General ledger, InfoLease or ALFA a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required, with concentration in Accounting or Tax
