Hedge Accounting/Operations Manager (Corporate Treasury)

Functional Team Overview

Balance Sheet Management Treasury Finance (BSMTF) is a division within the CFO Group responsible for performing the finance function for Corporate Treasury and providing executive management with accurate and timely analysis of the balance sheet, net interest income (NII), and non-interest income across Actuals and Forecast. Information generated by this team provides the framework which allows the company to position its balance sheet consistent with its risk appetite and expectations for changes in interest rates. BSMTF maintains close partnerships with various groups across the enterprise, providing key input to critical processes and strategic decisions. Coordination with Global Risk, Model Risk, Funding Managers, and other Treasury teams facilitates strategic ALM decisions within a controlled framework.

Position Overview

This position will oversee Treasury's extensive ASC 815 hedge accounting processes including all operational, governance and policy issues.  The Hedge Accounting/Operations Manager will be able to navigate a matrix organization to indirectly lead the 5-7 associates responsible for executing Bank of America's multiple hedge programs (fair value long-term debt, fair value debt securities, various cash flow hedge programs, and net investment hedge). The Hedge Accounting/Operations Manage will be able to combine deep product knowledge with a strong understanding of ASC 815 in order to develop new hedge programs providing Treasury's risk managers the tools they need to efficiently manage Bank of America's Interest Rate, Capital, Liquidity and FX risks.    

Required Skills:

  • 7 years experience working in Financial Services

  • Experience managing complex operational processes

  • Expertise with interest rate and FX derivatives valuations

Desired Skills:

  • CPA, CFA or similar

  • Expertise with ASC 815

This role may be filled as a BFC P&L Lead or a Senior BFC P&L Associate based on skills and experience.
