Systems Engineer

Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for queue management of assigned engagements with updated status tracking as well as implementation of core monitoring capabilities partnering with various Enterprise teams

Additional Responsiblities:

  • Ability to align customer requirements to delivered capabilities

  • Self-motivated individuals that are responsible for delivery

  • Ability to perform triage during issues encountered leveraging deployed capabilities

  • Advanced usage of deployed capabilities and training provided for end user of deployed tools

Required Skills:

  • 4 year college degree

  • 2+ years production systems engineering and/or support role

  • Proven experience with monitoring tools such as – Tivoli, Splunk, Introscope, Sitescope, AppDynamics

  • Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts

  • Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)

  • Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring

  • Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting a multitude of products (Webserver, Middleware, Database)

  • Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes

  • An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels

  • A Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills

  • A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting deadlines

Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers.
