Position Description

Wholesale Credit is a front line business unit working closely with relationship managers and other product partners to execute transactions and manage our credit portfolio.  Wholesale Credit is specifically responsible for the credit analysis, credit paper preparation and execution of multiple-ranged financial transactions as well as the subsequent monitoring and management of portfolio quality and exposures.

Responsibilities

  • Be an active member of deal teams and engage proactively with relationship and product partners

  • Maintain close dialogue with business partners and assist to find most appropriate financial solutions to clients

  • Provide analytical and other support to senior team members and interact with origination (Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets, Global Transaction Services, etc.), risk and other support functions to support responsible growth

  • Analyze clients’ businesses, their financial statements and due diligence materials

  • Prepare insightful credit papers for new requests and ongoing portfolio monitoring purposes

  • Monitor the financial performance, industry trend and information flow associated with existing and new relationship

  • Identify and escalate emerging risks

  • Understand and apply internal policy, procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Assess risk-reward profile and capital economics of the transactions

  • Review various legal documents for relevant credit products

  • Manage internal and external reviews and audits

  • Strong understanding of internal policy, procedures and regulatory requirements and to ensure full compliance in all respects

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Corporate or Investment Bank with credit research function, preferably in multi-national bank or large financial institution 

  • Strong knowledge of Korea FI market and credit products including loans, derivatives, trade finance, cash management and treasury products

  • Sound commercial judgment and strong business acumen

  • Proactive - takes initiatives and demonstrates ownership

  • Capability to build relationship both within the bank and with clients

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to tight deadlines and to plan and prioritize appropriately

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Korean language

  • Pro-active approach, problem solving skills, and be results oriented

  • Tertiary education in related subjects only
