Bookloss Team Manager II - MVSO

Job Description:

Bookloss (a) performs post-liquidation clearing of corporate advance transactions and balances for all applicable government, conventional and private investor claim and mortgage insurance proceeds, (b) ensures proper allocation of operational loss designations and (c) executes bulk clearing and early bookloss initiatives.

Bookloss team manager will be responsible for managing team's execution of core bookloss functions, inclusive of directly performing these activities and providing targeted training to team members as appropriate.  Will work closely with upstream default servicing groups across MVSO, inclusive of diagnosis of problems or driving process improvement initiatives when necessary, in order to ensure timely and proper reconciliation of fees prior to clearing the loan.

Required Skills:

• Leadership, management, accounting, finance, or bookloss experience

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Critical thinking skills, business acumen, and intellectual curiosity

• Proficient Excel skills; ability to analyze data sets in Excel, including pivot tables

• Demonstrated ability to make timely and accurate decisions

• Excellent communication and written skills; clearly conveys concepts and information

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Bank of America default servicing systems (e.g., MSP or other legacy platform) and processes

• Finance and accounting experience    

Enterprise Description

Supports the servicing of mortgage loans. Supervises the execution of transactions and responses to customer, investor, or 3rd party related inquires. First level of management, supervising day to day activities of a team of 2-20 Servicing associates. Has an in-depth understanding of governing rules and regulations and the implication of processes on other groups within the department and other divisions in the firm. Work responsibilities are similar to Mortgage Servicing Team Manager (OK305) but typically oversees a more complex work function such as end to end Pod/Performance teams, Asset Manager teams, Investor Reporting teams, etc. Team Manager II does not have Team Manager direct reports. Typically will have more than 5-7 years experience with a working knowledge of the mortgage business with 1-3 years as manager
