Your background

  • You are a very strong Java / Scala developer with extensive experience building middle-tier services
  • You are a self-starter and eager learner
  • You are a hands-on developer with work experiences in any of the following languages such as Python, Java, Scala or JavaScript.
  • You have a good understanding of common algorithms and data structures
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytics skills
  • You have strong knowledge of software best practices (Object-Oriented design, patterns, algorithms, data structures)
  • You have a good understanding of SDLC and application of Agile Methodologies including but not limited to automated testing (such as Test-Driven Development), Code Review, Continuous Integration and Version Control Systems
  • You have a solid understanding of functional programming
  • Ideally, you have an education in computer science (or relevant subjects)

We offer a highly technical track to developers who would like to pursue career in the technical domain within Investment Banking. You will be in a team of strong developers who are able to leverage off each other’s expertise and technical skills. The Reference Data Team provides solutions for client onboarding within the Global Markets domain. You will be tasked with designing and implementing solutions that will enable the business to adhere to stringent AML KYC requirements of finance industry regulators. You can expect challenges in deliveries of robust, maintainable software in a timely manner. Careful consideration is required in build-up of data models to balance business needs and data integrity. Business workflows in software you produce will channel and direct user actions to complete tasks to manage client information and accounts. Your work impacts systems across the entire trading flow, from front to back office, that depend on the data managed via these workflow to process orders and trades. We adopt new technology and industry best practices, and welcome efforts to make the development process better for the team.

What you will do

  • 80% of time would be concentrated in hands-on programming
  • You would be responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment.
  • You would be involve in the designing, coding, testing, debugging and documentation programs as well as supporting activities for the corporate systems architecture.
  • You would work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications.
  • You would be managing a high level of risk with in-depth capital markets product knowledge.
  • You would provide production support for applications.
