Ops Analyst MKTS - Regulatory Reporting

Job Description:

Global Collateral Operations manages the receipt of collateral from the company’s trading counterparties and the payment of collateral due to those counterparties, with a global credit support model for the Derivatives, Fixed Income and Prime Brokerage businesses. The Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Controls team is responsible for the production of reports and information required to comply with both regulatory requirements and internal control policies. This is a unique opportunity for an individual, with experience working within the Financial Services industry, an analytical data expert with strong control background and technical skills for solving moderately complex problems, to join a team with diverse financial, data analysis and accounting background in the global financial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Develop content knowledge of regulatory requirements and internal policies and be positioned as a subject matter expert in the preparation of reports to comply with Tax, Liquidity and Financial Reporting;
  • Analyze the collateral management workflow, systems and processes, and identify, track and remediate data issues with control enhancements to ensure complete and accurate reporting;
  • Participate in IT initiatives and strive for building standardized, integrated, controlled and properly-evidenced reporting solutions;
  • Design and publish appropriate metrics for operations control;

Enterprise Role Overview:

Follows established written procedures and guidelines, provides standard reporting and analytical support. Uses established techniques, analyzes and resolves a wide variety of moderately complex operations problems and initiatives including transactions that require special handling and/or exception handling. Employees in this role typically have a college degree (Associates or higher) or comparable work experience. Required skills include: basic Excel knowledge, detail orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities and multi task, excellent time management and prioritization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job , ability to problem-solve and take ownership of process improvements, ability to work in a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with various stakeholders. Desired skills for this role include: expert Excel knowledge, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred and basic understanding of and/or experience in Financial service industry. Required Skills: (Must have these skills to be minimally qualified)

  • Strong understanding of financial markets (3 years of experience);
  • Financial and/or Regulatory Reporting (2 years of experience);
  • Strong data mining and analysis skills, proficient in Excel;
  • Attention to detail and control-oriented mindset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task;

Desired/Preferred Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics and/or accounting;
  • Graduate degree and/or CPA certification;
  • Working experience on a public accounting firm;
  • Reconciliation experience;
  • Participation in automation initiatives;
  • Microsoft Power Point & Visio;
