Mainframe Support Engineer, CTI - CSW & Enterprise Application Production Services & Technology

Job Description:

Did you know the Mainframe is the hidden power behind many of the Bank’s critical applications including Online Banking, Trading, and Wealth Management applications?   The Mainframe processes over 700,000 SQL statements per second of every day of every week of every month. Today’s modern Mainframe servers are a core part of the Bank’s infrastructure serving our clients and customers. We are looking for talented individuals to help us continue to modernize our Mainframe software to support the Bank’s critical business functions.

The Mainframe Support Engineer is responsible for supporting capacity, charge back, reporting and ad hoc business partner requests.   

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing software installation, maintenance, administration and production support for CA MICS utilizing their knowledge with mainframe hardware server planning concepts
  • Participating in requirements development, technical analysis and implementation of mainframe systems engineering activities
  • Supporting engineering and analytical tasking related to mainframe capacity planning
  • Assisting in the identification, translation and documentation of business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Serving as a Mainframe platform subject matter expert, providing technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor

Required Skills

  • CA-MICS installation and maintenance or mainframe software support experience
  • JCL, TSO/ISPF, SAS, Microsoft Office Working knowledge of z/OS and z/VM monitor data (RMF/SMF, etc.) experience
  • Knowledge of BMC REMEDY Change Control, ENDEVOR
  • Mainframe systems experience
  • Self-starter with strong ability to work independently or with others
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 on call environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of JavaScript and/or Splunk

Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
