Assistant Vice President, Deployment Maintenance and Operations Officer (DMO)

Your background

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized University / Institution
  • Should have 15+ yrs. of experience worked in Banking-IT related areas/projects management experience or patching/release & deployment management function.
  • Experience and understanding of an enterprise Incident and Change management system based on ITIL framework (Remedy preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge in the areas of VMware products & Tools, application infrastructure (Windows server) and operating and system architecture.
  • A Good technical with hands-on experience with Release and Deployment Process and Activities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams to ensure tasks are completed in time with the release schedule.
  • 5 years + experience in desktop engineering with supporting Microsoft Windows OS
  • Good understanding of cyber security and desktop vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to generate new ideas and possibilities, and to see business opportunities from a novel perspective.
  • Client Orientation / Client Service Orientation: An underlying desire to service clients and a motivation to ensure that others need are met.
  • Consulting Skills: Ability to provide business-related added value, including innovative approaches and new or improved solutions.

  • Experience in PowerShell scripting would be an advantage
  • At least one years’ experience in remotely deploying software
  • Experience with build and release management, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • High quality standards, analytical skills, structured thinking with Advanced communications skills.

This role offers a high level of visibility as you’ll work in conjunction with a number of other internal teams (including Regional/Global teams)  to provide seamless delivery of patch management, build relationships with regional and global stakeholders for effectively management of the DMO function in the area of patches updates, communications, and governance in APAC.

Your ability to manage deployment schedule with minimize to zero outage is imperative to your success along with good stakeholder management.

The role provides a greater understanding of the varied activities in the Patching Release and Deployment Operations organization in the region working collaboratively across many teams. This role offers huge learning opportunities and opens a path into potential new avenues within the ETS organization or within the Bank itself.

You shall be responsible for management and operations of patching operations, incidents involving end user support, technology issues, compliance, and regulatory submissions. You will also be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implement solution. Supports new patches rollout impacting end users working closely and in partnership with Regional and Global partners. And, provide executive mgmt. coverage and support.

What you will do

  • Responsible for coordinating security patch deployment on APAC devices by following GIS policy and guideline. 
  • Responsible for updating and monitoring desktop OS currency across the region as well working with reginal application teams for their application version upgrade and patching. 
  • Coordinate with the regional teams in EMEA and the United States to ensure deployments are delivered in a timely manner and synchronized when required.
  • Perform operational readiness checks after each deployment to ensure business continuity.
  • Assist with other technology projects via the Project Managers and provide them with requested details on the bank’s software environment.
  • Provide regular status updates and escalate potential production issues to Senior Management regionally and Deployment Maintenance and Operations (DMO) globally.
  • Make every effort to make yourself available for out of business hours support when required.
  • Act as key contact in the event of any IT Incident DMO function in co-ordination with Regional and Global teams.  Drive Incident Management, Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Must have strong Trade Floor Support experience.
  • Incident resolution with the customer focusing approach on infrastructure and first level application support
  • Should have working experience of managing audit exams/submission and managing Audit and Regulatory and Compliance deliverables.
  • Strong experience of working with Senior Executive Business Users.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and an exceptional customer service with strong client facing experience
  • Delivering and end to end deskside walk up support to traders and experience in providing local deskside support for trader functions.
  • Develop and maintain support processes and operating procedures to meet high availability for TI infrastructure.
  • Lead and Engage internal teams such as DMO compliance, platform engg, Site Support, Information Security and compliance teams to aid in problem resolution
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and accomplishments in analyzing, diagnosing, and recommending solutions for hardware and software problems arising due to patching activities.
  • Ability to be clear and concise in communications of technical information to both technical and non-technical users in all organization levels

Business Support:

  • Support the ETS Operations Head to formulate/lead strategy planning, Manage operations, Track Deliverables, Responsible for patching Deployment (DMO) functions routines for APAC e.g. Upcoming Change and Release Deployment, Monitoring ERP, NPT, including presentation materials.
  • Ensure Technical and governance routines are strong by analyzing data for regulatory/audit submissions
  • Main coordination point for patching rollout, remediation actions across APAC countries.
