The Global Risk Governance and Strategy team is responsible for ensuring “best-in-class” and consistent risk governance processes across the organization. The team supports the management of the company’s Board and Management Risk Committees, including organizing, reviewing and challenging materials. Given the teams consolidated view of the risk organization, the team also supports key deliverables for the Chief Risk Officer, including internal and external presentations, consolidated risk reporting and analysis, and briefing materials.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to support key governance deliverables including planning management-and board-level risk committee meetings, coordinating with key stakeholders for logistics and meeting preparation, and reviewing materials for content and accuracy.

This role gives you the opportunity to:

The Team:

The Global Risk Management group works with Senior Management, risk managers and other support groups (eg Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit) as appropriate to, amongst other things,  (i) ensure compliance with and updates of all relevant policies, own core processes, (ii) work with Technology to develop applications to support these processes (including design, UAT, training and implementation), (iii) monitor and report metrics related to core processes to Senior Management Forums and (iv) coordinate Audit/Regulatory reviews and responses.

The GRM group is responsible for managing the production of global risk reports and analysis for Senior Management forums and deliver information to business partners and other support areas, such as Finance and for producing aggregate risk numbers, report stress test scenarios, respond to ad hoc reporting requests and work with Technology to improve data mining and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the International Governance and Strategy team in the compilation, preparation and initial review of risk committee materials for the three entities in the EMEA region 

  • Assisting the wider team in committee meeting management including logistics during the meeting as well as certain pre-meeting responsibilities including distribution of materials and drafting a schedule of guide times to be approved by the CRO

  • Taking the lead on certain post-meeting routines and responsibilities including distribution of action items, providing extracts and addressing other requests for evidence from committee materials from internal Audit

  • Overall committee management including review and update of rosters, charter management and archiving of committee materials

  • Supporting the wider team in partnering across the Risk organization to ensure consistent risk reporting that aligns to the Company’s top risks and communicating these risks and issues in a thematic way

  • Leading efforts to drive operational excellence and process improvement across the broader team

  • Performing ad-hoc analysis on various risk / regulatory topics and themes

  • Develop a deeper understanding of Bank of America and key priorities for the firm

  • Building relationships and networking across the organization (including within Global Risk Management)  and gaining a broad knowledge of key and emerging risks across the enterprise

  • Confident communication skills: ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and to feel comfortable delivering insights and recommendations to senior management

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to effectively challenge or identify limitations and assumptions

  • Intellectually curious

  • Intense attention to accuracy, detail and consistency

  • Ability to use discretion in reviewing and organizing confidential board-level materials

  • Experience planning and supporting large-scale projects

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-specific environment

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize daily tasks with project work as well as ad-hoc requests

  • Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and WebEx

  • Background in the financial industry is beneficial
