Business Data Analyst

Job Description:

Consumer is creating a team supporting our new Business Data Owner roles to drive our data strategy more proactively and strengthen LOB ownership of our data remediation and business enablement priorities. BDO team priorities will be

work with the users of Consumer data across the enterprise to understand their needs and ensure they have clean, accurate, fit-for-purpose data. Work with data capture process owners and others to ensure appropriate end-to-end controls are in place for regulatory as well as non-regulatory uses. Assist LOB leads and process owners in documenting data uses and linking those uses to process maps. Establish platform and process to manage inventory of Consumer data uses and related control points. Plan and oversee user adoption of Authorized Data Sources as well as rollout of non-regulatory control framework

Required Skills:

•              Ability to influence and partner with technical and non-technical business teams across functional and organizational boundaries and levels

•              Ability to support definition, documentation and socialization of a strategic road map

•              Ability to quickly acquire in depth knowledge about data ecosystems and translate into a data management framework

•              Ability to assess data controls across a complex eco system and document related gaps and risks

•              Ability to build management routines that collect and act on uses cases that meet in scope requirements

•              Ability to package complex concepts into simple and easy to understand presentations for socialization with executive level leadership, Legal, Risk, Compliance and senior leaders which articulates associated risks and recommendations

•              Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and garner consensus from multiple partners

•              Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines

•              Ability to apply critical thinking to business problems and implement change

•              Experience developing, implementing and monitoring data management controls and routines

•              2+ years of project management and/or related experienced experience

•              Proficiency in MS Office product suite including Visio, Excel including pivot tables, Word, and PowerPoint

Desired Skills:

•              Knowledge of Enterprise Data Management and Change Management Policies, Procedures & Governance

•              Understanding of Enterprise Data Architecture (process map, linage, metadata, data quality)

•              Familiarity with data flow analysis, preferably across client data domains

•              Experience with business process design and practical implementation

•              Exposure to Calibri-Metaportal, WMM, Zaloni

•              Working knowledge of Teradata, HADOOP (SDP), SQL Server,  HIVE, Impala and/or Linux

•              Reporting & Analytics or Data visualization tools ie. Tableau, Microstrategy

•              Understanding of the governing Consumer regulations – Z, B, AA, E, etc

•              Bachelor’s Degree
