Production Support Lead

Plano, Texas

Job Description:

*Candidates requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered for this position. This position will be located at our Plano, TX, technology center only. No remote or virtual options*

Responsible for ensuring stability of applications in production. Coordinates with various support teams across the organization, for problem research and resolution. Communicates with management the overall status and health of the applications. Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause. Provides monitoring of the environment during release or independent change and tracks changes to the production environment for management and executive communications.

• Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and programming skills. Conducts root cause analysis for incidents and problems.

• Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades, etc.

• Real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period.

• Assesses initial severity, gather impacts, creates tickets (REMEDY), engages necessary support teams, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration to incidents.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ Years of hands on experience in Application support/development, ensuring stability for critical Mainframe applications in a production environment.

  • 7+ years of programming experience in JCL, COBOL, CICS, SQL, DB2, VSAM, Easytrieve

  • 3+ Years of experience using batch job scheduling tools like CA7

  • 3+ years of experience in Mainframe Batch abend research and resolution

  • Strong experience in File Manager/File aid tools

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for high severity incidents. A self-starter, motivated, innovative. Able to assess the customer impact and provide tactical solutions.

  • Provide solutions and avoid recurring of incidents. Proactively monitor the production environment and identify the potential incidents.

  • Flexible to work for extended hours and on weekends as needed to handle high priority issues, production recoveries, provide support to Dev & Infrastructure Releases.

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in Event, Incident, and Problem processes in ITIL.

  • ITIL Certification is a plus.
