Software Engineer

Job Description:

Come join an exciting team within Global Information Security (GIS). Cyber Security Technology (CST) is a globally distributed team responsible for cyber security innovation and architecture, engineering, solutions and capabilities development, cyber resiliency, access management engineering, data strategy, deployment maintenance, technical project management and information technology security control support.

The Software Engineer position is a hands on developer for creating Cyber Security Solutions for our Global Information Security Teams.   A qualified candidate must have a Java programming background and an excitement for solving complex problems.   Experience with both backend and front end development is necessary for this role and an understanding of React for front end development is necessary.  The developer must be able to work in a team environment and provide input to resolve technical problems.  

Experience in an Agile based programming environment is a plus, the developer will be asked to provide estimates for assigned work.  This role will require some DevOps experience to coordinate for various needs of the team.   We are looking for a candidate with excitement for new technology and modern development practices with the mindset to create simple solutions for our cyber security teams.

The following are the required skill sets:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
-   Experience deploying large-scale, global projects and programs
-   Deep understanding of system development practices, DevOps, Agile delivery, and the technologies to support enterprise deployment
-   Ability to clearly communicate technical and business issues and solutions effectively to business or technical staff across organizational layers
-   Java Development with Spring – SpringBoot and serverless architecture 
- Experience developing microservices with a clear understanding practical implementation such as API Gateway and resiliency practices 
- Understanding of ORM and Spring JDBC / Hibernate
- Experience with Oracle and simple database model design
- Deep understanding of RESTful principles, best practices, and related technologies- 
-  DevOps experience with clear understanding of Bitbucket (GIT) and Maven and CI/CD practices
- Deployment experience with Red Hat Linux 
-  Fluent understanding of React and practical implementation of JS frameworks

The following are the desired skill sets:
- Understanding of Secure Development Practices
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Experience deploying to container environments such as OpenShift or Docker
- Redis / DataGrid experience
- NPM and Node
- OAuth / OAuth2 
- Ansible Tower
- JIRA
- JUnit / Mockito
 

Enterprise Description Overview: TO BE USED ONLY IN ORGANIZATIONS DELIVERING SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS: Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

$114,100 - $142,200 annualized salary, offers to be negotiated based on experience, education and skill set.
