Here in our Chester office, an opportunity has become available to join the FDCO business, as a Commodity Operations Analyst.

The role involves supporting the EMEA based Clients relating to Precious and Base Metal Commodity settlements. The successful candidate must be on hand to offer premium service, address and resolve any issues or queries whilst managing the relationships between our external and internal Bank of America Clients and third party relationships.
 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the settlement of physical precious metals and financial derivative trades for all indexes.

  • Analysing accounts and reporting of any outstanding  payable or  receivable ageing items, working with counterparties, sales, traders, Third parties and the confirmation team to resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain internal control processes and procedures within an operational awareness culture environment

  • Industry regulatory reporting tasks

  • Add value though implementation of improvements to the system infrastructure & control environment

  • Communicate updates and escalation to senior management

  • Involvement in projects and ad-hoc testing

The Team:

The Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) & Derivative Core Operations (FDCO) team perform end to end trade control, confirmation and settlements processes across FICC businesses and provides utility OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services for non FICC businesses.

Within FDCO, the teams provide multiple services such as FICC trade control, Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic matching and settlement, Over the Counter (OTC) derivative confirmation and settlement, and commodities operations.

  • Excellent organizational skills - ability to switch between tasks and to prioritize work effectively. 

  • Great communication skills - ability to engage knowledgably and confidently with different stakeholders across the organization, building effective working relationships with both Internal and External clients.

  • Ability to learn and develop in a fast paced environment 

  • Logical approach to problem solving and a hunger for process improvement

  • Analytical skills including data reconciliation and interpretation

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Be competent with MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Thrives in a team – based environment – working toward common goals

  • Good sense of judgment, knows when to escalate and how to manage expectations
