CRA Senior Officer (Advanced Excel and Data Mining)

Applies knowledge and expertise of risk/regulatory programs, industry practices, and the business unit to one or more functions within the business group. Independently conducts assigned responsibilities within the context of the business unit enterprise-wide regulatory/operational risk program.

Line of Business Description:

Partners with multiple lines of business and control partners to ensure company delivers on Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) mandates and expectations. Identifies opportunities for responsible growth within the enterprise, while achieving regulatory goals. Responsible for conducting enterprise analysis, industry analysis, research analysis and business forecasts. Assesses bank performance for low and moderate income (LMI) individuals and in LMI areas in order to determine and advise business partners to achieve best CRA outcome.  Acts as a LMI subject matter expert and assesses brand/business/regulatory opportunities and consequences to LMI individuals and communities.

Provides risk awareness while developing and communicating mitigation opportunities for business partner consideration; influences risk response.  Analyzes bank, industry and competitive position. Pivots between priorities while managing to deadlines and delivering key messages succinctly.  Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.  Exercises judgment and influences business managers and peers to ensure enforcement of risk/regulatory programs, balancing business strategy with appropriate risk management controls.  Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have the ability to analyze large quantities of data and draw succinct conclusions consistent with management strategy; and must be able to influence decisions.

Required Skills: 

  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, advanced formulas, advanced charting and macro creation
  • Able to manage, mine, analyze and draw conclusions on large volumes of industry and internal data to create meaningful analysis in support of business strategy and decision-making
  • Strong proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong Power Point development and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Visio
  • Strong bias for action; results oriented with an ability to manage to deadlines
  • Ability to keep abreast of regulatory environment and analyze impact to business
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and partner across organizational or functional boundaries with the ability to influence others

  • Technical knowledge of CRA and HMDA regulations and use of CRAWiz a plus
