Application Development DBA - Core Technology Infrastructure

Responsibilities:

  • Designing the databases by interacting with business & application partners
  • Creating database model using power designer or similar tool
  • Taking care of day-day tasks assigned by different application developers
  • Working with both offshore & onsite developers for any DB related tasks
  • Troubleshooting of production issues like performance tuning etc
  • Writing & reviewing PL/SQL code and working with developers to fine tune the queries
  • Working with production DBE’s to understand the Golden Gate Replication setup
  • Reviewing AWR reports and providing suggestions to application teams to fix the issues
  • Creating user permissions and roles
  • Installing DB changes into all LLE env’s and production database
  • Weekend release support

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience in database designing, development, Performance Tuning, and Query Optimization in Oracle RDBMS environment.
  • Experience in writing & reviewing PL/SQL queries
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux
  • Experience with Packages / Procedures
  • Experience in writing Shell Scripts
  • Proficient in Performance Tuning, Partitioning, Compression, indexing
  • Experience with OEM

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Datical, Bitbucket is preferable
  • Knowledge of Informix / Sybase is preferable
