Graphics Designer

Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The Video & Broadcast graphics designer creates the visual narrative that supports video communication. This person translates concept ideation to the actual creation by way of illustration, animation and other design skills. In many cases the large portion of the video is created by the graphics designer in which the editor then takes and adds the finishing touches. This role supports a variety of low and high tier production with varying budgets.  The designer is responsible for the consultation, creation and engagement across the team and with both internal/external clients on a daily basis. 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

Ensure the day to day operations of the department meet the expectations and needs of the team.  This includes:

  • Project counsel & execution w/ producers on video projects and broadcasts
  • Aligning appropriate resources and/or partnering with geographically dispersed teams to support projects
  • Vendor management & billing
  • Resource scheduling and oversight
  • Client meetings (internal and external)

Under the direction and guidance of the department manager/creative director, create innovative and fresh new ways to support projects. This includes:

  • Creative leadership/Using skills and experience to educate and elevate
  • Manage multiple projects effectively-through constant communication, efficient use of resources and effective procedures that help guide the process for all involved
  • Strategy sessions
  • Gathering feedback
  • Proactively getting ahead of any challenges/finding solutions   
  • Understand line of business communication dynamics to identify opportunities, partnership and translate to the team for successful integration
  • Know our clients, including their goals and identify motivators and behaviors to support via video and/or broadcast communication

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 2+ years’ experience in graphic/motions graphic design for video production
  • A record of professional experience in graphic communications as evidenced by providing a portfolio with examples
  • Strong focus on flawless execution in a high production department
  • Must be able to build and maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of individuals and personalities and work through conflict
  • Strong problem-solving techniques
  • Comfortable working on both Macs/PCs
  • Demonstrated software expertise in Adobe products
  • Illustrator
  • After Effects
  • Photoshop
  • Premiere
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
