Derivatives and FX Business Analyst / Project Manager - Delivery Lead - Technology

The Derivatives and FX Confirmations function has a large focus on Risk Reduction including reduction of NPT, reduction of vendor and operational risk and focus on strategic architecture.

This Analyst will be an SME that works closely with Operations, Front Office and the Confirms and Matching technology teams to review current state and define target state requirements for critical technology risk reduction deliverables, to migrate to strategic target platform, ensure AIT adherence to GIS standards, reduce duplicative confirmations technology footprint, achieve cost saves and reduce ongoing NPT remediation on legacy platform.

There is an urgent need to commence the work to decommission a vendor based platform, with imminent risk of loss of vendor support starting September 2022. The current Confirms and Matching tech team is not sufficiently staffed to kick start this work in 2021 and is looking to hire an able SME Business Analyst that can hit the ground running and kick start the analysis in partnership with Front Office and Operations, to enable timely resolution of the our outstanding technology risk.

Key Goals & Responsibilities:

Act as the project subject matter expert to support delivery deadlines, governance routines, cross project dependencies and budget for a portfolio of strategic and BAU projects across Confirmations and Settlements technology.
Partner with operations to assess and prioritize business needs/requirements to maximize impact.
Maintain a future focus, looking ahead to ensure any risks or dependencies are managed effectively.
Proactively seek out and solve problems, make decisions and negotiate the right solutions to ensure project outcomes remain on track
Drive continuous improvement, lead by example and challenge assumptions and timelines to seek greater levels, frequency and speed of outcomes.
Formally manage change controls for scope, schedule, and budget targets to adhere to bank Change Management policies
Communicate key updates and accomplishments to senior management and recognizing key contributors

Can operate at Senior levels as well as detailed levels. The ability to go into details and analyze trends for root causes is essential.

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivery of defined deliverables which usually requires engagement from multiple teams such as a project or smaller program. Communicates the work objectives, coordinates delivery, manages risks, ensures compliance to standards, and provides end-to-end visibility into the health of the deliverables. Ensures execution and delivery meets the client’s expectations in terms of the functionality, quality, timeline and cost. Coordinates and facilitates routines to support delivery – e.g. kick-offs, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, tollgates, etc. Plans and coordinates delivery and dependencies with across multiple teams. Facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the defined deliverables. Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to support the deliverable completion and timeline. Gathers/facilitates status updates for the deliverables to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to delivery, risks/issues, and schedule. Ensures that execution is aligned with deliverable requirements by working with the sponsor/stakeholders. Ensures deliverables comply with Enterprise Change Management standards. Supports resource planning for delivery/execution. Individual Contributor.

Desirable skills:

Self-starter with ability to challenge convention; excellent communication skills
Analytical skills, and the ability to deep dive into details is a must.
Ability to create senior executive level presentations to summarize key issues
Collaborative Team Player
Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner, whilst ensuring quality & timeliness of the delivered results
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to make sound business decisions
Must be able to cultivate a strong partner relationship with Ops and Technology partners to drive toward deliverable due dates.
Knowledge of Global Markets - Knowledge of processes, products and tradeflows within markets and banking; Product knowledge on Derivatives, FX and Quartz a plus.
Experience transforming and improving business performance
Experience in regulatory environment, managing risk and adherence to compliance.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery.
Proven technology management discipline (financials, resource planning)
