Application Control Specialist, Risk Technology

Job Description:

Responsible for completing and tracking compliance deliverables to ensure applications adhere to applicable policies and standards as well as local laws, rules, and regulations (LRR). Completes administrative and non-technical tasks related to compliance deliverables and infrastructure requests for the applications they support. Supports vendors, development teams, and Technology Managers to ensure technical security, risk, and other compliance activities are completed on-time and per requirements. Partners closely with control functions, risk management, and Global Information Security and are familiar with the applicable policies, standards, LRRs, contacts and procedures so that the compliance deliverables are completed effectively and efficiently. Ensures the risk, security, and other compliance deliverables are completed on-time and per requirements for the applications they support. Assists with audit exams and risk assessments for the applications. Tracks and supports the technical security and risk activities performed by the development teams. Maintains data about the application in systems of record. For vendor applications, works closely with the vendor to ensure the application meets bank requirements. Assists with ad hoc inquiries and questions about the application. Interfaces with technology infrastructure teams for infrastructure requirements and/or requests.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual contributor who will be responsible for completing and tracking compliance deliverables to ensure applications adhere to applicable policies and standards as well as local laws, rules and regulations (LRR). The individual will partner closely with control functions, risk management and Information Security (GIS).

About the Organization:

Enterprise Credit Risk (ECR) technology organization supports ECR business organization and ECR business is responsible for managing credit risk originating across all of Bank's LOB's, i.e. retail, wholesale, banking, GWIM, Markets. The ECR Technology organization manages several applications in support of various ECR business processes such as:

  • Credit Risk Concentration Management
  • Asset Quality Reporting
  • Credit Risk Policies and Procedures
  • Default Identification
  • Allowance Reporting
  • Valuation Services
  • Risk Ratings across Counterparties, Facilities, Countries & Industries

In support of these business processes and functions we operate 18 applications across 600 servers. We provide 25,000 monthly reports and self-serve reporting with 56 upstream authorized data sources and 66 downstream applications. In ECR technology, to effectively operate we seek strong technical talent who are focused on supporting our clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that risk, security, and other compliance deliverables are completed on time and per requirements
  • Complete administrative and non-technical tasks related to compliance deliverables
  • Assist with audit exams and risk assessments for the applications
  • Track and support the technical security and risk activities performed by the development teams
  • Maintain data about the application in AppHQ and other systems of record
  • Work closely with vendors for vendor applications to ensure the application meets bank requirements
  • Assist with ad hoc inquiries and questions about the application
  • Interface with technology infrastructure teams for infrastructure requirements like requests for additional storage

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of proven working experience in project management, administrative and non-technical tasks related to application & infrastructure request and compliance deliverables
  • Experience in working with Agile Development Methodology and Release Train team’s environment
  • Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture, design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, MS-Project
  • Defining norms/agreements and enforce the agreements taking them through adoption
  • Strong experience on work management tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, GIT Hub etc.,
  • Developing execution strategies/plans while tracking deliverables and milestones against them
  • Visualization, measuring and reporting of Project health using PMO tools and Agile indicators
  • Strong working experience for adherence to application management compliance – organizing kick off meeting, defining scope/objectives, deadlines, milestones, executive reporting and building artifacts to evidence for audit tollgates
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills across both technical and non-technical terms
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Collaboration and building contacts with various stakeholders with excellent negotiation, client-facing and internal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
