Job Title: EMEA Backup Operations

Overview of the Role:

The EMEA Backup Team is responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the backup infrastructure across 3 data centres in the UK, and the regional branch offices, protecting some 3000 clients. The infrastructure consists of Linux and Windows Servers, Netbackup and Networker software, Oracle Tape Libraries, DellEMC Data Domain, Veritas appliances and KMS encryption appliances.

The primary focus of this role is to be strong Netbackup and Cohesity backup SME with excellent UNIX skills to provide L3 support for the environment as well as strengthening the operations and initiatives with expert Netbackup and Cohesity guidance. The role is based in the UK Camberley area, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • Over 3 years' experience working in large Netbackup environments preferably within the banking sector.

  • Over 2 years' experience working in large Cohesity environments preferably within the banking sector.

  • Proven experience and in depth working knowledge of Veritas Netbackup and or Cohesity with the ability to work in a high pressure environment where time to delivery is of paramount importance.

  • Good knowledge of Oracle Tape libraries and Oracle encryption.

  • Dependable, reliable candidate with attention to detail.

    Overview of the Team:

    Team consists of 8 people based in UK, team cover EMEA and look at global items where required.

    Great team spirit in a supportive and friendly environment.

    Various team members have been Bank of America for 20+ years.

    Core Skills:

  • Strong knowledge on Veritas Netbackup v8.x and Cohesity.

  • Extensive troubleshooting experience in various Netbackup/Cohesity backup and restore related issues.

  • Good knowledge of VADP backups.

  • Direct experience and knowledge of supporting at least Level 2 operational activities and troubleshooting on DellEMC Data Domain, Veritas Netbackup appliances, Cohesity and Oracle tape libraries.

  • Unix knowledge including ksh/awk scripting needed.

  • Meticulous organisation and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Delivery focussed.

  • Ability to work under own initiative with little supervision.
