Portfolio Manager

Job Description:

Data & Portfolio Management is responsible for the portfolio management of the GM lending and for creating transparency in lending exposure and performance metrics.  The GMC Reporting Associate/VP will be responsible for the on time production of  trigger monitoring and other regular GMC owned reports.  

The GMC Reporting Associate/VP will be expected to:

  • Generate regularly scheduled reports using data on facility attributes, direct / indirect exposures, risks, profitability, and SME commentary

  • Ingest, process and monitor triggers on a structured lending portfolio (e.g. ABS)

  • Review and submit data required to support regulatory requirements, such as capital

  • Create and maintain reporting guides and inventory which house information on report purpose, data sources, filters, frequency, contact lists, distribution lists and other relevant information 

  • Support data integrity by escalating to and coordinating with GMC Portfolio Managers, Data Analysts, and Credit Officers and parnter with FLU, risk partners and other relevant stakeholders as necessary

  • Coordinate and provide information and contribute to presentations to respond to regulatory and senior management requests

  • Work with Portfolio Managers and Data Analysts to advance data flow and process automation work or other improvements to create efficiencies in the reporting process and reduce operational risk

  • Support firm wide Wholesale Credit initiatives and liaise with applicable stakeholders across the firm on emerging topics as needed

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in credit risk management, reporting, control or middle office functions

  • Diligence and strong attention to detail to accurately deliver reports on a timely basis

  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of risk, support, and business partners

  • Desire to improve and/or streamline processes to maximize efficiency while addressing stakeholder needs

  • Familiarity with internal bank systems is a strong plus

  • Working knowledge of securitization or structured lending (e.g. ABS) a plus

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration or related fields

  • Candidate should exhibit strong personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility
