Production Support - Cisco / F5 Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Primary Duties:
• position requires that the candidate possess the ability to analyze and understand a variety of existing and emerging Line of Business application infrastructure requirements, perform risk analysis, and provide the technical leadership interface with technology peers and Business Partner application architects in delivering best in class solutions that align to our Business Partners application integration goals
• Role requires the candidate to interface on a regular basis with BOL/My Merrill LOB partners and be able to support/troubleshoot issues that require real time triages
• Interface with Core infrastructure and application teams with multitasking capabilities. Document detailed information around the issues that arise and lead teams to short and long term solutions to problems
• Possess the ability to perform packet analysis and troubleshoot LTM/Switch/Router problems
• Understand and utilize different types of network monitoring (Cacti/Netscout/Wireshark/TCP dump)
• Participates in turnover calls to hand over ongoing network/load balancer issues.
• Works well within a team of highly driven network professionals. Able to communicate/understand networking methodologies. Participates in network problem management/incident management calls
• Handle vendor related network issues in regards to vendor>bofa network problems
• Understands and fluent in Cisco command line troubleshooting
• Understands and fluent in F5 LTM (L5 L7) / GTM load balancing, CLI and web interfaces

Required Skills

•  Troubleshoot all Cisco Nexus issues (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP)
 • Subject Matter expert with F5 products & technology ( GTM, LTM, SSL offloading etc)
 • Good overall network background with an understanding of routing & switching protocols as well as application layer protocols
 • Strong background with DNS

Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system. Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors. Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports. Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years
