Here in our MLFC office, we have an exciting opportunity to join a small team, as a Trader Assistant, supporting the Corporate Treasury Trading Desk. Corporate Treasury is responsible for providing world class management of the company’s interest rate and liquidity risks using a state of the art framework for balancing the tradeoffs between risk and return.

Treasury's primary responsibilities include funding the company’s balance sheet, forecasting net interest income, managing relationships with rating agencies and fixed income investors, and analysing interest rate and liquidity risks. The Chief Investment Officer team manages the activities of the Corporate Investments Group and is responsible for ensuring that its actions are consistent with the policy, guidelines and direction of the Finance Committee and Asset Liability Risk Management Committee. The CIO has discretion in implementing the portfolio strategy to optimize execution and returns as market conditions allow.
 

You will work closely with the EMEA Trading Desks to support their activities and perform the following responsibilities –


• Timely and accurate management of trade capture and substantiation
•  Performing reconciliations and event monitoring for derivatives as well as supporting FX, interest rate derivatives and fixed income securities.
• Performing trade maintenance as required (e.g. lifecycle events, amendments) and ensuring trades feed to downstream systems as expected
• Dealing with  trade queries  – work closely with Front Office, Back Office and other stakeholders  to investigate and resolve trade booking issues, breaks and/or failed trades
• Perform basic trade analytics to resolve trade queries
• Production of daily reports – distribute daily reports to the Trading desk, Business Partners and Senior Management (requiring a high level of attention to detail)
• Resolve queries – Investigate any issues raised to the team, liaising with Front Office, Back Office, Finance and/or the client as necessary.
• Build and maintain relationships across senior business leads and support partners
• Involvement in a broad range of initiatives across multiple platforms driven by both the Business and Trade Control and working to ensure they are effectively implemented and delivered as per the requirements

Core Skills:

• Solid analytical skills (a degree in a quantitative discipline would be advantageous)
• Extensive work with data systems, databases and spreadsheets.
• Displays a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to partner well with others to accomplish goals 
• Ability to quickly learn new applications and trade capture platforms.
• Ability to understand the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and work with them to resolve differences
• Collaborative team player

PREFERRED but not essential:


• Trade Control/Assistant experience or product experience (preferably FX, Interest rates derivatives or fixed income securities)
• Proficient in SQL and VBA
