DevOps Engineer - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Bank of America is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong infrastructure management and development experience. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining development and production environments across multiple projects. This will include troubleshooting code and configuration issues, monitoring and maintaining systems, Linux administration and environment automation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Administer and automate Linux/Windows environments
  • Troubleshoot environment/code/config issues
  • Create and implement procedures to improve code delivery and system availability
  • Automate the deployment of new environments using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker
  • Coordinate releases and follow processes endemic to a highly regulated organization
  • Communicate and collaborate with developers, project managers, QA engineers, and database admins
  • Work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team
  • Establish credibility and provide technical leadership as a DevOps subject matter expert

Required Job Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Automation-first mindset with strong development experience using Ansible
  • Experience implementing and supporting Continuous Integration and Delivery practices and automation tools (e.g., TeamCity / Tekton / Jenkins / Artifactory)
  • Experience administering Linux/Windows systems
  • Excellent understanding of Containerization technologies (Docker and OpenShift/Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting and/or a strong understanding of networking
  • Experience with various languages such as Python, Bash, Ruby, Groovy, etc.
  • Monitoring and log aggregation experience with tools like Prometheus, ELK stack, Splunk, etc.
  • Experience deploying and supporting SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Git source control
  • Experience with Agile development processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Conflunce, Rally)
  • Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills

Desired Job Skills:

  • Previous experience in a lead role
  • Experience with observability, tracing and instrumentation tooling

Guides the team on work breakdown and execution. Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team.
