Summary:

Experienced asset manager responsible for managing equipment residual values, collateral valuations and residual value guarantees.  The incumbent will work closely with senior management, Credit, Risk, Pricing and other Equipment Management Group (“EMG”) teams, providing detailed analysis for various equipment types and recommending appropriate residual risk levels and lease terms. The position will also be responsible for providing appraisals for existing portfolio transactions, participating in the annual portfolio ASC impairment review and assisting with the annual equipment matrix pricing review.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the America’s businesses ensuring EMG policies, procedures, controls and analytical principles are consistently followed and adhered to.
  • Formulating and recommending residual risk levels for new lease transactions, providing collateral valuations in support of loan-type products and for the acquisition of transactions and/or portfolios.
  • This position requires knowledge and experience of a wide range of equipment types, over multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
  • Provide accurate, well-reasoned opinions of value supported by research and data.  Work with a large, diverse marketing and sales organization to support, advise and provide consultative guidance relative to future asset values and market attributes.
  • Assist Credit, Legal, Transaction Management, Originations and Sales Management in structuring transactions to ensure that Global Leasing is protected in all situations contemplated in the financing.  Construct documents and provide specific terms and conditions designed to protect Global Leasing’s investment.
  • Maintain databases, resource/reference materials, and a library of equipment knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with equipment brokers, inspectors, appraisers, remarketers and external suppliers.
  • Evaluate new target markets and provide responsive support for analyzing, winning and managing new equipment investment opportunities.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting, Finance, Economics (or other Business concentration), or Math or Engineering.  Senior membership in the American Society of Appraisers preferred.

Preferred Prior Work Experience: 

Ten plus years of experience in an equipment management role preferred.  A strong background in valuation and analysis of a broad range of equipment types and equipment markets is preferred, as well as prior experience in a middle market/large corporate transaction origination environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of equipment management, working on large, complex transactions
  • Customer/Client industry knowledge
  • A strong collaborative ethic, combined with an ability to work effectively with others in order to achieve team goals 
  • Ability to synthesize multiple variable inputs into well-reasoned, supportable opinions of value
  • Ability to articulate clearly the reasoning and rationale behind equipment valuation recommendations
  • Deductive reasoning ability, exceptional analytical and forecasting skills
  • Advanced written communication skills and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, control/planning and creativity
  • Ability to influence others and work precisely, while managing changing priorities
