Associate/VP- FICC Trading, ABS Finance

New York, New York

Job Description:

Overview

ABS Banking & Finance, part of Global Mortgages and Securitized Products, is responsible for origination and execution of term asset-backed securities (ABS) transactions and secured lending transactions.  We manage a secured loan portfolio of approximately $25B to provide clients with credit capacity for warehousing collateral for future ABS issuances.  We primarily focus on issuers of ABS backed by credit card receivables, auto loans & leases, student loans, equipment loans & leases, and timeshare loans among other assets.  We are consistently a top 3 underwriter in the US ABS market.

We work with our ABS Syndicate Desk and Mortgage Sales Force to market the securities to investors.

The ABS Analytics team (which is part of ABSF) supports our origination and execution efforts as follows:

·       Using BAML’s internal structuring tools, model new/proposed transactions as well as reverse engineer existing transactions and make recommendations on how to improve the efficiency of the trade.

·       Using Intex DealMaker, create a model that will be distributed to Investors to assist them with their investment decisions.

·       Provide a detailed comparative analysis of the recommendations for inclusion into client presentations.

·       Structure, rate and price securities for our issuer clients.

·       Review modeling assumptions in offering documents and tie-out with accountants.

·       Interact with both our issuer and investor clients to explain modeling assumptions and results.
