Vice President, GCIB Credit, Sydney

GCIB Credit is a front line business unit working closely with relationship managers and other product partners to deliver credit transactions and manage our credit portfolio.  It is responsible for credit underwriting, documentation, structuring and ongoing portfolio management for corporate and financial institution clients.  GCIB Credit acts as first line approver.

 Responsibilities

  • Be an active member of deal teams and engage proactively with relationship and product partners

  • Manage and monitor a credit portfolio for macro, industry and client news, identify and escalate emerging risks

  • Analyse clients’ businesses, their financial statements and due diligence materials

  • Prepare insightful forward looking credit papers and assign risk ratings

  • Review and assess relevant legal documents for relevant credit products

  • Maintain current knowledge the bank’s strategy, capabilities and product offering

  • Understand and apply internal policy, procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Coach and guide analysts and associates

Competencies

  • Prior credit experience in banking and finance or related field

  • Ability to analyse financial statements, lead due diligence and prepare credit proposals

  • Experience analysing investment and sub-investment grade credit profiles and structures

  • Sound commercial judgment and strong business acumen

  • Proactively takes initiative and demonstrates ownership

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Capability to build relationship with stakeholders within the bank and with clients

  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and is focused on continuous learning and skill building

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
