Market Data Developer

Job Description:

Market Data Technology & Services (MDT&S), is a unit within GBAM Technology Infrastructure (TI), responsible for the product lifecycle and support of market data platforms and services. The new hire will be a member of the Market data development team and will play a key role in facilitating the integration of market data technologies within the firm.  He /She will also be involved in design and deployment of market data systems and services that will be used by the different business units in the firm.

Required Skills:

  • Low-latent market data delivery technologies and performance tuning

  • Develop Market Data API’s and related tools in C++ and Python

  • Experience with data structures, multi-threaded programming and distributed caching technologies

  • Strong discipline regarding adherence to SDLC processes

  • Experience writing and working with latency critical, high throughput distributed systems.

  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating environment

  • Develop performance and diagnostic tools to assist in debugging issues with market data systems.

  • Providing 3rd level support as the highest level of internal technical escalation

  • Thorough knowledge of Market Data Distribution technologies (Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Exegy)

  • A high level of experience in market data content from multiple providers.

  • Experience in Refinitiv RFA/EMA and Bloomberg market data API's

  • Excellent scripting ability (Python, Bash)

  • Good knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, Routing Protocols, Security)

  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating environments

  • Experience in financial market applications, exchange data and internal trading flows

Desired Skills:

  • Hard and soft skill qualifications needed are as follows:

  • Strong knowledge in Market Data Platforms, API’s, tooling and analysis.

  • Strong knowledge in consolidated feed providers such as Refinitiv Real-Time Data Feed (Elektron) and Managed B-Pipe

  • Hands-on experience with development tools like Visual Studio, gcc.

  • Strong scripting skills for software/system management and automation.

  • Methodical problem solving analysis and analytical skills.

  • Holds oneself accountable for delivering on time and to the highest standard

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task efficiently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to perform technical relationship management routines with exchanges and suppliers.

Leads and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system. Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors. Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports. Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of IT experience.
