Job Title: Cloud Automation Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Cloud Automation Engineer role within our Operational Capabilities and Analytics space. The role will be responsible for responsible for a large number of deliverables that will assist the Server and Cloud Transition and Operations teams. This position can be located at either our London or Dublin sites.


 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Capturing detailed technical requirements from Operations

  • Partnering with Engineering to develop a design

  • Onboarding the Enterprise solution to Operations when ready

  • Additionally for situations where the time to market for the Enterprise solution is too long, the Operational Engineering team are capable of developing a tactical solution to meet the immediate requirements

The Team:

The Operational Capabilities and Analytics team is a global team of 24 associates with a broad range of deep technical and organisational skills and are involved in delivering operational efficiencies through automation, analytics and process improvements for the wider Cloud and Server Operations teams.

The team have delivered a significant number of solutions over the past 3 years through solid collaboration with our partners in the Engineering and Operations teams within TIS. This includes workflow automation for stability and security event management, enhanced data analytics dashboards, event correlation and automated escalation of incidents, process design and custom tool development.

We have lots to do in 2021 that directly align to the TIS 3 Year Strategic goals and there will be opportunities to develop skills in a range of vendor and internally developed products.

Core Skills:

  • Experience in Windows Server or RHEL operating systems on both baremetal and cloud hosting environments

  • Experience in cloud technologies and associated products including VMWare and Microsoft Azure (vRA, vRO, vROPs, vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, vRLI, vRNI)

  • Solid scripting and development skills

  • Experience in a range of storage and networking technologies, including software defined products (NSX-T, vSAN)

  • Solid understanding of storage products (NAS, SAN, 3PAR etc)

  • Experience with Splunk ITSI and event analytics desirable

  • Ability to self-manage projects with clients and technical peers to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Experience in Ansible playbook development desirable
