Associate/Analyst- LATAM Rates & Currencies

Business Overview

Our business focuses on creating tailored solutions for clients in Latin America. A typical solution will involve one or multiple Global Markets products, including derivatives in different underliers (rates, commodities, FX, equities & credit), repurchase agreements and structured notes, among others.

Our clients include the largest institutional investors, governments and corporations in Latin America (i.e. sovereign and quasi-sovereign entities, banks, large corporates, insurance companies, pension funds & hedge funds). We provide solutions for complex situations such as capitalizing on powerful mergers and acquisitions, debt & equity issuances, large financing facilities, portfolio rebalancing, credit trading, etc.

LatAm Rates and Currencies: Team members are called on to advice on interest rate and FX risk management with regards to hedging strategies of exposures generated by debt and M&A operations around the globe, for which they need to collaborate with Capital Markets and M&A platform, and regularly update and inform clients on relevant news and activity related to interest rates, FX and credit markets.

Job Description

Analyst/Associate in LatAm Corporate sales and structuring is active deal team member responsible for pricing and executing transactions for LatAm clients across global markets & industries, working closely with trading, corporate banking, legal, credit and operations. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare client pitch materials, fixed/floating capital structure analysis, currency exposures, economic and market updates
  • Responsible for trade modeling, execution, booking and processing
  • Work alongside senior coverage officers to provide interest rate and currency risk management advice to corporate clients
  • Develop a clear and thorough understanding across a variety of derivatives products such as FX forwards, options, cross currency swaps, interest rate swaps, caps, floors, etc.
  • Work closely with our Relationship Managers, Wholesale Credit, Risk and Global Markets Trading partners

Qualifications

  • BS/BA plus 1-2 year work experience required, finance or related degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills and interest in working with clients
  • Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking and distinguished communication skills
  • Quantitative skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs, familiarity with market data sources a plus
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on small teams
  • Ability to multi-task various projects concurrently in an ever-changing market driven environment  
  • Interest in global political and economic events
  • Spanish fluency is required
