Job Description

  • Play a key role in executing on live defense situations

  • Assist clients prepare for activist/hostile activity

  • Working with industry and M&A bankers, identify new business opportunities

  • Supervise the creation of materials for internal meetings and marketing initiatives

  • Assist in coordinating information flow and execution with industry groups

  • Support the expansion BofA Securities’ activism and raid defense business, a growth initiative for the bank


  • 7-10 years of experience in Investment Banking at a top-tier firm

  • Bachelor’s degree (and potentially a graduate degree – e.g.,  MBA or law) with outstanding academic qualifications

  • Functional understanding of the legal and process considerations around proxy challenges and hostile transactions preferred, but not required

  • Prior deal experience in proxy challenges, hostile transactions, contested M&A and related governance matters, preferred, but not required

  • In depth experience of delivering investment banking products and advisory services to clients

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Strong marketing, presentation and sales skills are essential

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence

  • Ability to effectively interact with and the ability to work and communicate effectively with the immediate team, product partners and ultimately bank clients

  • Creativity, problem solving skills, flexibility in approach and the ability to work with members of multiple product groups at the same time

  • Strong team player, willing to learn and assume responsibility and be enthusiastic about becoming a member of a successful and growing team

  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously & working effectively as an individual & as part of a team

  • Passion in striving for business excellence

  • Team-working, leadership and problem-solving skills, plus creativity are key qualities, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and interact with a variety of people all levels.
