Job Description

The role we are looking to fill sits within the Global Corporate and Investment Banking division, and will work as part of the Corporate Banking team based in Sydney.

We are looking for candidates committed to serving the long-term needs of top corporations and financial institutions in Australia and their global subsidiaries. Your role will provide you with a valuable opportunity to build a career serving clients in the global financial markets with access to a strong global platform.

Our specialized coverage team focuses on client coverage of Australia’s largest corporate and financial institution clients. Key tasks include corporate lending, corporate finance analysis, preparing client presentation materials and supporting senior bankers on client relationship management. Working together across our various sector, industry and product teams to seamlessly help clients grow their businesses. The origination teams are organized by country, industry or product coverage.

You would be joining a team with a high performance culture which operates with a strong team ethic but a high cadence and velocity to serve our clients in a very competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with BofA’s Blue-chip Multi-national Australian clients providing a range of banking services.

  • Supporting origination efforts and core relationships with key individuals in the client’s management team.

  • Developing and maintaining complex financial models focused on company performance and credit metrics

  • Performing various financial analysis including external credit ratings analysis and working knowledge and understanding of sector specific methodologies

  • Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research to support origination initiatives

  • Preparation of presentation and other materials for clients (Powerpoint and formatting skills)

  • Communication and interaction with deal team members, including credit and risk partners as well as global offices and product teams to leverage the Bank of America platform

  • Supporting senior bankers and other teams members on credit related execution tasks (loan documentation, KYC, internal approval memos)

  • Work with product teams locally and across our global network to cross-sell and market suitable products and services to clients.

  • Provide support to the global account owners in the development and implementation of individual client plans.

  • Support the Managing Director’s across the business undertaking ad hoc projects and activities as and when required.

Requirements

  • University degree holder with a minimum of 4 years relevant financial service, accounting, corporate advisory or corporate and investment banking

  • Understanding of corporate or structured credit and relationship management, ideally with good working knowledge of transaction banking, treasury & capital markets products.

  • Strong numeric and analytical skills and ability to apply these to client situations

  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability and willingness to work in a team environment

  • Understanding of credit risk, cash flow and balance sheet assessment

  • Self-starter with an inquisitive and curious mindset with a genuine interest for global financial markets
