Contract Negotiator - Vice President - Global Transaction Services

Job Description:

The Role:

Based in London, you will be an integral part of the Global Contract Management team, working closely with a variety of colleagues across the business, product, operations, implementation and legal. The role covers primarily the EMEA region with opportunities for cross-regional exposure and collaboration. You will be responsible for negotiating, preparing, reviewing agreements including master agreements and supporting documentation for account opening, amongst a myriad of other treasury management agreements.

For this role you will have to apply experience, industry standards and knowledge of account documentation, banking/finance products and Bank of America policies to address related credit, risk, compliance, legal, operational and business issues. You will also facilitate communications among sales, implementation, product, operations, compliance, risk, credit officers, legal staff and client managers to promptly resolve documentation issues. Organizing and prioritizing a large number of competing, complex documentation assignments to meet customer needs within short timeframes will be key to your success.

  • Respond to contract inquiries and negotiate legal terms and conditions

  • Multitask 20+ contract negotiations and projects at a time

  • Support the RFP process for bids from our customers

  • Work in close partnership with internal and external legal counsels, Sales, Product, Operation, and Fulfilment

  • Be a quick learner who thrives in an increasingly regulated and fast paced environment

  • Be an active participant in identifying and supporting projects that continuously improve our own operations and as well as those that streamline processes

Required Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in law (a legal qualification [e.g. Solicitor] is desirable but not essential)

  • Substantial negotiation experience in a customer facing role — preferable within the banking and finance industries.

  • 3 years’+ experience negotiating legal terms & conditions

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Superb work ethic

  • Applies very good judgment in identifying critical legal issues and weighing the risk

  • Adaptable to the changing needs of our business partners and external customers
