Cons Prod Strat Analyst III (SAS\SQL & Data Mining)

Job Description:

The Fraud Prevention and Detection organization is hiring a motivated and experienced strategy analyst for our Payment Card Fraud Strategy Team.  This analyst will be responsible for the following:

Drive analytics to develop fraud mitigation rules for payment cards, carefully striking the balance across fraud risk, client impact, operational costs and revenue implications

Proactively managing fraud risk by urgently responding to immediate threats while keeping an eye toward future risks, vulnerabilities, and changes to the fraud landscape

Consistently challenge the status quo to find opportunities to develop and refine our fraud policies and procedures, working closely with the business, operations, and policy partners

Constantly evaluate the vendor space for new tools that can be deployed on the portfolio, including internal and external behavioral models.  Work closely with internal technology and data science teams to test and deploy these tools

Present fluently and confidently to leadership, reporting on key trends and new loss reduction solutions

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, economics, business, engineering, finance or operations research
  • 3+ years of risk analysis, strategy development, strategy deployment, or related experience.
  • SQL/SAS Coding experience.
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and connections with the line of business leaders and multiple stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a complex and rapidly-changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a virtual team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Intellectually curious and willing to dive into complete issues\problems and solve.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, economics, business, engineering, finance or operations research is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payment card P&L dynamics and authorization flow.
  • Experience with Python and usage of more advanced analytical, visualization and data extraction tools (H2O, HUE, Pig, Spark, Hive, Tableau) is strongly preferred.
