Here in our London office we are looking to recruit for a Market Risk Executive in the Macro Team. The Market Risk role is a blend of technical understanding of financial products, real-time monitoring of financial markets, and quantitative data analysis/modelling. It requires a variety of communication skills used to report on risk positions in order to influence risk takers and inform key stakeholders. This role is within the EMEA Macro Team with coverage across several asset classes.
The Global Risk organisation is underpinned by cutting edge tools, processes and subject matter expertise. The team operates in a technically complex, fast changing and dynamic environment with an excellent culture of growth, learning and development.
The role will be responsible for identifying, managing and communicating market risk exposures. The role involves managing significant risk positions and performing quantitative and qualitative analysis. It also requires a thorough understanding of risk management practices and appreciation for financial products. The role requires understanding the business activity on a trading desk and undertaking risk reporting across a range of audiences ranging from individual traders, through to senior management and regulators. Risk analysis is one half of the job, performed using the firm’s systems as well as via ad-hoc methods.
Responsible for the regional and global management and direction of market risk management functions within the Fixed Income products area.
In conjunction with the GMFR Executive, establishes market risk management policies, procedures and standards.
Analysis of model risk, the implementation of the New and Complex Product Approval Process, limit approval authority, analysing and reporting of market risk.
The GMFR Senior Manager will primarily interface with Senior Traders and Business Heads/Marketing Managers and the managers of other risk and support groups (i.e. Compliance, Finance, Operations, etc.).
Previous experience as a Risk Manager working directly with the Front Line and performing risk analysis.
Solid academic background, which may include a postgraduate qualification.
Good people skills demonstrated across various communication styles (both written and verbal).
Knowledge of financial markets, ideally with solid understanding of Macroeconomics. Without demonstrated Macro experience, we are unable to consider applicants.
Previous and / or current team leader experience.
Understanding of financial derivatives and modelling.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise across several competing demands, meeting tight deadlines.
Effective team player.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Highly motivated with the drive and potential to learn from others.
