Job Description:

  • Work as an integral part of a team to analyse and assess the financial prospects of companies or businesses in the broader global industrial space

  • Development of various types of financial models to value equity and debt for mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and capital raising transactions

  • Perform a range of valuation methods including, but not limited to, comparable companies analysis, precedent transaction analysis, leverage buy-out analysis and discounted cash flow analysis

  • Research on companies and industries, developing ideas and formulate them into client pitch-books

  • Assume responsibility for monitoring targeted clients in terms of news and announcements

  • Support in development of new and existing client relationships in order to expand the business

  • Support on transactions across the bank’s products by performing relevant due diligence, research, financial and strategic analysis

  • Conduct preparation and review of documents for live transactions, including marketing materials, investment memoranda, management presentations, bid letters, and share and purchase agreements

  • Build direct cross functional relationships with bankers in product and regional business units

The Team

  • BofA’s Industrials Group is a highly successful team with one of the largest and most successful Industrials investment banking platforms in EMEA

  • The team is active across several different industry silos with high deal activity across key banking products such as mergers & acquisitions, ECM, DCM and Leverage Finance. This provides bankers at the earlier stages of their careers an excellent opportunity to develop a well-rounded skills-set and build a strong foundation for a long-term successful career within finance

    • The industry sectors covered within the team include aerospace & defence, automotive, building products, business services, capital goods/D&I, chemicals, infrastructure, packaging, pulp & paper, Rail & Steel, and Transportation

  • The team is led by Justin Anstee who has been with the firm for 20+ years; the team’s 9 MDs collectively have over 150 years of banking experience and the majority have been with BofA for more than a decade. This provides important business continuity and helps maintain the team’s strong team culture

  • The team has a strong focus on junior banker development with both formal and informal training available to Analysts and Associates (“A&As”)

    • The team has dedicated managers for A&As, respectively and a dedicated development officer

    • Additionally, the team has existing mentor and a buddy programmes in place to provide the right support structure for our junior bankers

Core skills - Required and Preferred

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language a plus

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)
