Here in our London office we are looking to recruit for a Rates eTrading Application Support to join within our Markets Application Production Services Rates team. This role provides critical support for Rates trading applications and requires face-to-face interaction with trading and sales users in London.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
First point of contact for end business users in Rates eTrading
Providing world-class communications to end-users as issues are managed to resolution
Ownership and delivery of on-boarding support of or processes into the MAPS organization
Build and maintain solid partnerships with business stakeholders, application development teams and infrastructure contacts
Monitoring of critical trading system environments
Troubleshooting of complex systems issues
Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots
Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements
Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting
Release implementation and enforcement of change management policy
Incident Management and Problem Management
Identifying opportunities to simplify and improve processes
The Markets Application Production Services Rates team is well establishes consists of 8 people in London. The team approach is one of collaboration and we work closely with other teams in Paris and India to support the EMEA Rates trading business. We are part of a Global Rates team that has grown rapidly and now consists of more than 50 people supporting more than 40 applications.
The team has regular direct contact with multiple Rates trading business located in London and Paris and you will have the opportunity to interact with traders, salespeople, business management (COO), application development teams and operations staff.
On top of the numerous career development opportunities offered by Bank of America, the MAPS team sponsors training courses on an annual basis. In the past 6 months our EMEA team had the opportunity to attend bond and swap pricing technical courses at beginner or advanced level.
Resilience – must be resilient and confident working in a high pressure Front Office trading environment
Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency essential
Operating systems – Linux primarily - ability to navigate the operating system
ITIL Certification or performed in a role that demonstrates application of the key principles (Incident, Problem, Service Request and Event Management)
SQL (intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, stored procedures)
Job scheduling (Autosys, Crontab)
Understanding of Infrastructure disciplines (networking, server, storage, messaging)
Enterprise Monitoring – ITRS Geneos
Experience with exchange connectivity
Knowledge of the main client B2C (e.g. Tradeweb, Bloomberg) and interdealer D2D markets (e.g. MTS) software
Required business expertise would include:
Product knowledge – Preferably a Rates eTrading subject matter expert with a demonstrated history of supporting the following: Request for Quote flows, Government Bonds, Agency and Supranational Bonds, Interest Rates Futures, Interest Rates Swaps, Inflation-linked Bonds
Market data – yield curves, funding curves, bond and swap pricing (general understanding)
Interdealer (D2D) and Client (B2C) markets connectivity and flows
End-to-end knowledge of different trade-lifecycles (e.g. a client negotiation, order placed on interdealer market)
Scripting languages: Unix Shell, Python
Familiarity with Bloomberg TOMS and Reuters
Awareness of the regulatory environment (in particular MiFID II)
Splunk and / or AppDynamics
