Successful candidate will conduct credit analysis; track investment advisor fund performance and assess ongoing creditworthiness; prepare credit approval memoranda relating to investment advisors and asset managers; and assist in the approval process of related capital markets trading limits across various products including derivatives, repo, futures among others. Additionally, review of trading terms and conditions of legal documentation is critical. You will be expected to build extensive knowledge of each client drawing upon in-depth research and industry expertise. VP’s work closely with professionals throughout Risk and Global Banking and Markets, particularly colleagues in corporate banking, trading, treasury management and syndications. Specifically, perform intensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence on asset management industry and specific investment advisors. VP’s are called on to:
Research, write and present credit financial and industry analyses in support of asset manager specific and portfolio level decisions
Evaluate trade level details and relationship risk-adjusted profitability to facilitate the allocation of and return on capital
On-going monitoring of client’s credit profile, financial performance, industry trends and emerging risks
Participate in the structuring, underwriting and documentation of trading limits designed to meet both client and investor needs as well as balance the bank's internal risk/return requirements
Monitor and manage credit exposure associated with the bank's broad range of trading products including Derivatives, Repurchase Agreements, Futures, Foreign Exchange, Mortgages, Loans, Leasing, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Treasury Management, Receivable Securitization Conduits, in the Wholesale Credit Asset Managers Trading sector
Mentor / coach junior colleagues as needed
Counterparty Risk Management including experience in Derivatives and Traded Products
Prior experience managing Credit Risk of Investment Advisors, Asset Managers or Hedge Funds
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with 5-7++ years of banking / credit underwriting experience preferred.
Strong technical skills, including accounting and quantitative modeling
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, and strategic and creative thinking.
Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results
