Job Description:

Global Corporate Banking is part of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division (GCIB) at Bank of America (BofA). Our team is focused on managing the day-to-day relationship with our clients as well as delivering financing, treasury and risk management solutions to our clients on a global basis. In addition, Global Corporate Banking manages the firm’s balance sheet allocation to our clients in coordination with our credit and risk teams.

Global Corporate Banking serves a diverse range of clients and industries across the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. Outside the US, our focus is on large global multinational corporate and financial institution clients. In the Corporate Banking Germany, Austria and Switzerland team based in Frankfurt and Zurich we cover the largest corporate clients in Germany and Switzerland and certain select clients in Austria. Predominantly our clients are publicly listed on the main equity indices (e.g. DAX or SMI) or are some of the largest privately owned companies in the coverage region. Given the focus on large multi-national corporate clients the Corporate Banking team is also responsible for the relationship management of client’s global subsidiaries in close coordination and partnership with regional and local Corporate Banking Subsidiaries and Transaction Banking bankers.

The Role

  • Assist Corporate Banking professionals in relationship management, origination and execution across a diverse set of product areas

  • Work on live transactions, coordinate and interact with professionals from a broad range of teams as you build your network and experience, including professionals from Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Risk Management (Rates/FX/Commodities), Global Transaction Services, Global Loan Products, Wholesale Credit/Risk, etc.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of our clients, the industries in which they operate and how the bank helps support both their growth aspirations and day-to-day banking requirements

  • Become proficient at credit analytics and the various metrics used to price and structure various debt instruments

  • Support the team in the development of detailed corporate finance analysis, gaining exposure to a broad range of products including bonds, loans, leases, FX, rates and treasury solutions

  • Develop a strong understanding of market fundamentals and be able to make informed contributions on a broad array of financing strategies that address client’s specific needs

Core skills - Required and Preferred

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required

  • Proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Fluency in English and ideally also in German is essential. A further European language is a plus

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)
