GMC Asset Manager (GMC AM) team within Wholesale Credit is responsible for all aspects of the credit underwriting and risk management of the Banks agency portfolio of non hedge-fund clients within APAC.
Analysing fund prospectus and preparing counterparty analysis memo for annual renewals and new requests with a view to formulating a recommendation for credit appetite and risk rating;
Take ownership and accountability for ensuring timely submission of Credit Approval memo, interim monitoring of clients’ financial performance and other ad hoc analysis and reporting as required;
Hold delegated approval authority to approve trading floor transaction request (OTC derivatives) or to make recommendations to higher authority levels.
Preparation of portfolio reports and reviews, including analysis of OTC and F&O exposures, any counterparties of concern and other pertinent risk issues.
Follow, monitor and elevate market trends and events which may impact the credit quality of the portfolio; together with ongoing monitoring and analysis of risk ratings and exposure for assigned clients
In coordination with business units and senior risk management, establishing and maintaining credit policies/procedures and limit frameworks, including underwriting and portfolio guidelines
Developing a working understanding of relevant legal documents (ISDA, CSA, GMRA etc), credit agreements and amendments, in order to recommend appropriate credit terms governing transactions.
Coverage focus is primarily non hedge fund portfolio however suitable candidates will have an opportunity to cover some hedge fund clients as well
Master or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related fields. CFA/FRM or other professional qualification will be highly preferred
Strong credit risk analysis comprising risk-based and conclusion-oriented analytical skills and an ability to defend a point of view. A particular interest in funds is recommended;
Experience and knowledge of financial traded products to include FX, Equities & Credit Derivatives;
Good communication skills, both written and oral - ability to be concise and with attention to accuracy and detail; ability to influence business partners and stakeholders;
Strong work organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and work under pressure to ensure commitment deadlines are met. Ability and willingness to work as part of a team is essential;
Technical skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint;
Familiarity with trading documentation (ISDA/CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, F&O)
