When a client decides to raise capital in the public or private markets, Corporate and Investment bankers turn to the Equity Capital Markets team. Equity Capital Markets partners with the coverage team and advises clients on optimal methods to access capital, whether for acquisitions, general financing or strengthening of balance sheets.
Job Description
Analysts / Associates in ECM Origination will support senior members to help deliver solutions and best execution that bring to bear the full breadth of BofA Securities’ capital markets capabilities.
- Provide senior originators comprehensive analysis on clients, region and industry trends and market events
- Determine and spearhead additional analyses that are supportive to the client or transaction effort
- Partner with colleagues in investment banking industry groups to model and refine the solutions considered and presented to clients
- Work closely with senior colleagues to prepare pitchbook presentations for the team to use in client discussions
- Present sections of the presentation as needed during client meetings and conference calls
- Anticipate senior banker needs ahead of planned client meetings, and prepare materials accordingly
- Develop deep acumen in the client industry; this is an ongoing activity through which the Analyst / Associate builds on a base of expertise and ultimately becomes a strategic thinker vis-à-vis the industry, each player's position in the industry, expected developments and implications for each client in the context of the financial marketplace
- Work closely with internal constituents, lawyers and representatives from other investment banks in the context of deal execution
Qualifications
- BS/BA required, plus 1-4 years of work experience in financial services
- Strong interest in global capital markets
- Outstanding academic qualifications
- A track record of superior performance in professional and extracurricular activities
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus
- Distinguished written and oral communications skills for basic client communication
- Teamwork skills integral to working with broader ECM team
- Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic and team focus
