Job Description:

As an Analyst in Debt Capital Markets, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist senior DCM team members with deal origination and execution across a diverse range of product areas

  • Work as a product specialist directly with our clients at top management level to create and deliver financing solutions through DCM (bonds, loans, FX and rates) products, including designing highly tailored presentations for clients to outline solutions to their financing needs

  • To provide market-informed judgments on a broad array of financing strategies to address clients’ specific needs

  • Work on live transactions and interact with clients as you build your network and experience

  • Help generate ideas and opportunities for new and existing clients through in-depth research, financial modeling and industry analyses

  • Work with sales teams and traders in the Global Markets division and liaise with the Global Research division to stay informed on the latest market developments, as well as coordinate and manage live deal executions

The Team

  • Debt Capital Markets is part of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division (GCIB) at Bank of America (BofA).

  • DCM professionals originate, structure, risk manage and execute debt products, including bonds (across public and private markets), loans and acquisition finance.

  • Our clients include Corporates, Sovereigns, Supranationals, Agencies and Financial Institutions. Post-origination, we continue to assist our clients with their ongoing debt portfolio management through liability management and derivative transactions

  • Potential to gain direct client exposure at junior level

  • Work within the wider Capital Markets team globally as well as across product and coverage teams (close collaboration with CBK, IBK, Derivatives, Loan Capital Markets etc.)

Core skills - Required and Preferred

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required

  • Proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Desire to work in a fast moving environment requiring high levels of energy

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Candidates should demonstrate drive, innovation and a genuine interest in the financial markets

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language a plus

  • Educated to degree level with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent); applications are accepted from a diverse range of degree disciplines such as the arts and humanities, as well as numerically focused subjects such as economics and mathematics
