Bank of America Securities has one of the largest corporate client footprints globally which we leverage to market currency and interest rate derivative solutions to solve risk management issues for these clients and generate revenue for the bank. 

Rates & Currencies Solutions:  An integrated sales team, based predominantly in New York with regional offices in San Francisco and Toronto, is responsible for providing hedging strategies for underlying foreign exchange and interest rate exposures, collaborating across the Global Corporate & Investment Bank (GCIB) and regularly updating and informing clients on relevant news and activity related to global markets.

Overview

VPs in the Strategic Risk Management Solutions team (SRMS) act as a trusted advisor on risk management topics to both existing and target clients.  These associates are responsible for advising clients on risk management best practices, designing hedging programs and strategies for clients, performing holistic risk analyses, producing client deliverables, developing quantitative models to measure financial market risk, back testing the performance of different hedging strategies, presenting risk management solutions to clients, and providing hedge accounting advice.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing interest rate and currency risk management advice to our Corporate clients

  • Enhancing client relationships through in-person meetings, client events, etc.

  • Identification and quantification of a client’s risk exposure together with a comprehensive understanding of their objectives

  • Backtesting the performance of different hedging strategies and recommend optimal hedging strategy based on the company’s risk management objectives

  • Develop and update risk management models in MS Excel used to quantify client’s exposures

  • Preparing client pitch materials, fixed/floating capital structure analysis, currency risk analysis, economic and market updates

  • Demonstrating leadership within our group

  • Working closely with our Corporate and Investment Bank and Global Markets partners to enhance the overall client dialogue

Required Skills

  • BS/BA with concentration in finance or related degree preferred

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs, familiarity with market data sources

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Strong work ethic, initiative and deep desire to learn and strengthen individual skill set

Desired Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience

  • Previous experience within a corporate treasury or FX or Rates departments

  • Ability to effectively prioritize a significant work load

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Risk Management and Corporate Finance

  • Knowledge of financial instruments and financial markets

  • Knowledge of ASC 815 / IFRS 9

  • Driven individual with a desire to learn about financial markets and risk management

  • Proficiency with numbers and mathematics
