Senior Full Stack Developer - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

The Senior Level Full Stack Developer will be working on the development of a private cloud hosting environment, supporting Bank of America’s Internal Cloud Services in the Technical Infrastructure organization.  Be part of the team that builds the platform to offer Virtual Machine, Bare Metal and other services for technology communities throughout the Bank.

Required Job Skills:

  • 7+ years of working in software technologies in a cloud
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts and familiarity with common standards and tools used in cloud computing (such as – EC2, Cloud Formation, OpenStack Heat, and TOSCA).
  • Advanced programming background in the relevant technologies – specifically Java and Spring
  • Working knowledge of various cloud topology specifications for applications
  • Experience with service oriented architecture and Microservices/Modular Technology
  • Programming experience with cloud orchestration frameworks
  • Advanced cloud distributed development conceptual and implementation knowledge and capabilities – including HTTP, synchronous and asynchronous processing, highly available and resilient modeling/engineering
  • Product knowledge and experience: RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Very strong analytical skills
  • Front End Experience including:
    • ReactJS
    • JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 
    • Jest, Enzyme, Pact 
    • NodeJS, NPM 
    • RESTful web services 
    • Experience with service oriented architecture and Microservices/Modular Technology
  • Backend Experience including:
    • Advanced Java programming and fluent Spring-Boot and other Spring frameworks
    • Experience with RESTful API and JSON, service oriented architecture, Microservices/Modular Technology
    • Test-Driven Development or Behavior-Driven Development
    • Large scale, user-facing web sites and applications
    • Programming experience with cloud orchestration frameworks
    • Advanced cloud distributed development conceptual and implementation knowledge and capabilities, including HTTP, synchronous and asynchronous processing, highly available and resilient modeling/engineering
    • Product knowledge and experience: Mongodb, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch

Desired Job Skills:

  • Hashicorp Products like Consul/Nomad/Terraform/Vault
  • Advanced OpenStack and vSphere/vRO Application Programming Interface (API) implementation knowledge and skill set
  • In-depth knowledge in the Infrastucutre as a Service (IaaS) space working with tools such as vSphere/vRO/vRA and OpenStack.
  • Experience with Configuration Management: (ex: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CFengine)
  • ITIL Foundations certified or higher
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.
