Position Description

The Operations Analyst will be responsible for the operation support for China Connect / Hong Kong market (or any other Self-Clearing market in Asia) for Cash Equity business. Functions include settlement and custody functions as a self-clearing broker in this market, as well as client services of Institutional Clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality post execution support to Institutional Clients from trade settlement, fail management.
  • Ensure timely settlement with Exchange and Clients.
  • Ensure funding sufficiency for trade settlements.
  • Managing settlement fails with Exchange and Clients
  • Follow ups on post-settlement exceptions and reconciliations.
  • Adhering to control procedures, identifying gaps and ensuring controls are implemented to close those gaps.
  • Stock borrow/return support

Key Requirements

  • The successful candidate will ideally have settlements experience in cash equity products. Experience in Hong Kong / China Connect will be advantageous
  • Ability to work under time pressure due to the short settlement window of this market
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.  Knowledge of VBA will be advantageous  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organization skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Public holiday coverage and extend working hours may be required
