Senior Tech Manager - Merchant QA

Position Summary

The quality leader is accountable and responsible for managing a team that provides production incident oversight for Merchant Technology and executes all QA (testing) functions as well as the testing strategy and approach for all impacted technology testing teams.  Job specifics include:

• Monitor and manage production incidents for Merchant Technology
• Ensure incident triage participation by Merchant tech team members as needed
• Monitor progress of production incidents to ensure progress and closure by production support
• Defining quality standards and metrics
• Creating quality milestones and checkpoints to measure success
• Defining processes for test plan and testing cycle
• Ensuring development task meet quality criteria and can be effectively tested
• Focus on automation and meet automation goals aligned to industry standards
• Set process for test plan reviews with key stakeholders
• Assign tasks to quality assurance team to ensure exposure for all team members to critical testing processes, knowledge transfer, succession planning
• Managing test planning, strategy and execution across multiple technology testing teams
• Direct management of testing of device hardware and certification, payment processing software, onboarding and servicing software
• Responsible for testing strategy and execution of all vendor developed software
• Production certification
• UAT / LOB demos and testing
• Create automation strategy and associated tools to support testing functions. Collaboration across peer organizations will be required to drive consistency in approach to testing.
• Release support function for Merchant Technology.
• Capacity/resource management (onshore/offshore contractors and associates)
• Drive testing and automation strategy
• Test execution reviews
• Internal and external Audit support

Required Skills

•10 years of experience in hands-on QA testing in a high volume, high availability environment.

3+ years’ management experience be sufficient

• Ability to define and implement QA Strategy
• Ability to define and implement test automation, continuous testing
• Extensive hands on experience executing software testing, defect management
• Seamless partnership with technology delivery, product managers, project leads
• Excellent communicator and organizational transformation expert
• Demonstrated ability to work in high intensity situations maintaining attention to detail

Desired Skills

• Experience with SaaS software packages in the financial services, banking, payments environment
• Experience with development and test methodologies and tools
