Overview of Analyst Role

Toronto Analysts/ Associates work as generalists across the various industry groups where they help orchestrate strategic advisory and capital markets transactions. Bank of America's Canadian offices offer candidates an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on analytical based work experience that is focused on the financial markets and visibility with clients as a representative of a top tier global investment bank.


  • Marketing, executing and structuring investment banking mandates focused on strategic and capital markets transactions

  • Building and maintaining complex financial/valuation models, including DCF, accretion/dilution, LBO, comparable trading and transaction analyses

  • Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research

  • Preparing presentation and other materials for clients

  • Participating in due diligence sessions

  • Communicating and interacting with deal team members including coverage partners and product areas as well as with clients and other external parties

  • Managing several projects at once and working effectively as an individual and as part of a team

  • Participating in the recruitment, development and training of junior team members


  • Completed a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics, with outstanding academic qualifications

  • 1 year experience in Investment Banking is strongly preferred

  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills 

  • Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic and team focus 

  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities 

  • Dedication to building a career in investment banking and capital markets
