We are looking to recruit a self-motivated Messaging and System Administrator (Skype & Teams) with experience of migrating from on premises Skype to Microsoft Teams within our Mobility & Enterprise Social team. The role will provide Windows skills for Microsoft Teams and will provide support for Mattermost BAU.

Candidate's required/essential experience:

  • Self-motivated Messaging and System Administrator (Skype & Teams) with experience of migrating from on premises Skype to Microsoft Teams

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft O365 including the configuration and migration from Skype to Teams.

  • Skype for Business Edge Services implementation for external or mobile client access and Federation

  • Experience of integrating Skype for Business and Teams within telephony systems

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for managing the technical aspects for the design, configuration and migration within the larger project team, whilst also maintaining, where necessary the existing Skype for Business server infrastructure.

  • Develop the design and undertake the required configuration.

  • Solution validation testing including troubleshooting and resolution of issues.

  • Help define the migration of users from Skype to Teams.

  • Provide project team & pilot support, including participating in walk-through demos of services and technical design.

  • Diagnosis of incidents during the migration, problems and change implementation to include the writing of Change Requests and seeking the required approvals.

  • Interface with the broader M365 program team and 3rd parties

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.

  • Undertake knowledge transfer to support teams (1st line, 2nd line)

The Team:

The Enterprise Social team are a high impact dynamic team of individuals based in UK and US. This is a small, but very capable team, where there are many opportunities for growth and development. This is an exciting role within the team for a Realtime Systems engineer with a specialism in Chat capabilities. The Enterprise Social team work under pressure to deliver best in class solutions within strict timelines and complete governance for product and project.

Core Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Audio/Video/Web Conferencing, Session Border Controllers/Gateways, SIP Trunk Configuration, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, Federation, Persistent Chat, Office Web Apps, Firewall Rules, and Monitoring/Reporting.

  • Proficient understanding of technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, DFS and the ability to maintain other Windows core services.

  • Experience implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) with Active Directory.

  • Excellent knowledge of PowerShell and .NET scripting.

  • Expert knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft O365 including the configuration and migration from Skype to Teams.

  • A solid understanding of Windows Server 2012/2016, VMware, DHCP, DNS, Outlook, and OWA.

  • Solid knowledge of enterprise messaging.

  • Environments including but not limited to Active Directory.

  • Analytical approach to solve complex problems in a complex, large-scale, and multi data-center environments.

  • Microsoft Certified IP-PBX gateways, eg Sonus,QoS, AudioCodes

  • Understanding of Real Time Communication Protocols, eg SIP

  • Skype for Business Edge Services implementation for external or mobile client access and Federation

  • Experience of integrating Skype for Business and Teams within telephony systems
