Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) Hosting, part of the Global Technology & Operations organization, consists of more than 6,600 employees worldwide. The individual will be responsible to provide 16 X 7 supports for the Unix Deployments.
Support role working with the Linux and Solaris OS
Remediation of all Critical and Important Baseline Security Compliance Issues
All Critical Compliance Issues will be remediated within the mandated timeframes
File system management and recovery.
Verifying that remediation occurred on compliance issues
LVM management, Veritas volume manager & Veritas Cluster
Work closely with peers under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned analysts and documented processes
Coordinate and execute multiple tasks within a fast paced environment
Coordinate with application team for the maintenance and implement the tasks
Follow, improve upon and create processes required for effective Application Administration
Assisting with tracking and managing vendor support tickets, and be able work with a team to triage and resolve urgent application issues
Education: B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
Certifications, If Any: NA
Experience Range: 8-12 years
Strong Linux, Solaris background
Experience in Unix OS Patch management
ITIL process knowledge
Knowledge on different types of file system
Experience in DNS, DHCP, NIS
Knowledge in Linux Operating system, services & utilities like NFS/AutoFS, Samba, NTP etc.
Experience in configuring VERITAS Cluster and troubleshooting
Knowledge in troubleshooting hardware break fix like RAM, processors, hard drive failures, updating the firmware, configuring ILO/RILO for HP servers
Documentation skills like power point, excel
Experience on hardware troubleshooting
Experience on supporting for the production environment
Experience with troubleshooting production applications
Communication skills (both written and oral)
Organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of the technology specific baseline security requirements
Knowledge on Operating system Baseline compliance
Understanding of and experience in vulnerabilities remediation
